More new songs + a new compilation!

Hello again, my friends! I've been hard at work with new music, making puppets and props for future projects, and the like. I look forward to showing you stuff soon.

I released two more songs from my upcoming debut album under the Foam Skeleton moniker entitled "Ew! Yuck! It's Foam Skeleton!" - I thiiink I should have the album ready to roll in a week or two, I only have a few more songs to put finishing touches on. So if you like really DIY sloppy MySpace-esque cybergrind with puppets, this is up your alley for sure! I'm excited for these songs and how silly they are. Especially "Buckets of Whimsy" which features jams from my close friend Dave Craig on it. I loved it so much me and him are planning on doing a full on collaborative project. These four songs and a handful more will be on the debut album - and I might as well reveal the album art for it as well.

Ew! Yuck! It's Foam Skeleton! coming out real soon.

I'll at least be doing CD's for it, but I might do cassettes as well if the demand is there. Grab one whenever you stumble across me, if you'd like!

On the note of CD's, I'm in the talks for - I think - 4 different releases, not counting my own, for Squicky Records. Some longtime friends, new friends, and more! I'll give some updates on those once they're more concrete. But on the note of CD's from Squicky Records - I'm curating my first compilation in over a decade.

Submit a track to foamskeleton@gmail.com !!

I hated doing compilations before, but I really like the end result when they actually happen. This one will be a general one of unique tracks from DIY artists. I've already got one submission for it that I'm extremely excited and honored to be hosting. Basically anything goes, songs under 5 mins. No AI nonsense, etc etc.

If all goes well, I will definitely try to do more compilations moving forward. I just always have this hesitance because in the past, doing compilations felt like pulling teeth. The last one I tried to do was a Christmas compilation on NOG in like 2016, I think. I got three submissions after over a month with other people insisting they'd get stuff in if I extended the deadline - they did not. Needless to say that compilation was sadly cancelled. Hopefully an open ended one will get a bit more traction. If I get like ten tracks on it, I'll be really happy.

This compilation will be available digitally for free on the Squicky Records bandcamp when I make it with information as to how to support each artist in the description. I will also be doing CD's that will be entirely free at shows / will be given away with Squicky orders if I receive any. They will also have a flyer inside with information on the bands. The bands who participate will also receive files to create their own copies of the compilation.

Anyways, hope you participate! I'd love to have you!

Album coming soon, Stalked By My Doctor debut show next month at Gnome Hutch, compilation coming soon. Get excited!

Upcoming Show! New music project!

I got a new music side project going! It's a new collaborative project with my pal Matt whom I've been in bands in the past with. It's yet another silly puppet cybergrind band, but a bit more emphasis on the grind part of it. We're called Stalked By My Doctor and have been working hard on making new songs that I'm extremely excited to share. Will probably drop an album sometime this year. But the real exciting part is that we have a show next month at Gnome Hutch in the Reading, PA area! Reach out if you're interested in going. We're playing with some cool acts such as Bog Creeper, L.M.I., and Beautiful Red Panda. I think they're all local-ish so it's nice to share the floor with some cool local talent. I even made a flyer - and made it stop motion because I want to make animated flyers a "thing" in the modern DIY scenes.

I'm excited for what is to come with this and for the Foam Skeleton album that should be out soonish too. In the talks with 3 or 4 other releases on Squicky Records too, probably all DIY CD's but I will update with those when I have more details! I'd like to get a drop of a few releases out by the end of the summer, if I can!

More updates to come on everything. I leave you with the newest puppet friend I made, just finished them today and am figuring out their name/personality/etc. Much love! <3

Welcome to the Foam Skeleton blog

I'm perpetually stuck in 2008 subculture with this project, so it only makes sense to attempt to keep up with a Blogspot for it - even if I'm fairly confident nobody is actually going to read it.

So a short intro, this is my project Foam Skeleton. Foam Skeleton was birthed in 2024 when I decided to create an Instagram page to showcase DIY puppet builds that I had begun to make. I had always wanted to create puppets and stuff, but I was always anxious about actually taking the dive - now I have like 80+ builds at this point, whoops!

From there I decided to incorporate the puppets into performances and eventually films. The Foam Skeleton music project was birthed shortly after the fact and I whipped up a really silly DIY demo with basic instrumentals whipped up on a Kaossilator and vocals run though a BOSS PS-6 pedal. It's pretty lousy but it's fun to see how far I've come in such little time. I'll eventually add a page to this blog with a list of my releases and all that.

From there, I began dabbling in other mediums, namely animation - especially stop motion animation and "claymation". Now my goal is to get into other interesting mediums and do more projects.

I also run a new DIY label called Squicky Records. I previously ran a label called 48hr Video for about a year and a half or so with 8 releases, but I wanted to start new. I'll be posting updates to Squicky on this blog as well and I hope to put out cool releases with it on cassette, CD, VHS tape, DVD, maybe even other mediums if it takes off? Who knows! I'd also like to do a compilation of some sort showcasing cool DIY artists I'm friends with, but running my old DIY record label, NOG Records, every time I ran a compilation it was like pulling teeth getting it together.

Anyways, welcome to the world of puppets, I plan to supply you with lots of updates on projects I wish to do. I plan to do more cybergrind music, short films, full length films, music videos, and if people are down, cool collabs! Maybe live shows too! Expect lots of cool creations of music, animation, puppets, and more!

I guess I'll leave you with my most recent thing I've released. I don't have a lot of video stuff to showcase yet because most of the stuff I've been making has been experimental clips to try to showcase my "talents" on social media (and some clips will eventually make it into more coherent projects), but I'm hoping to get out lots of cool stuff real soon!

About a week and a half ago, I dropped my first music video for a Foam Skeleton song as well as two songs to listen to/download that'll be on my upcoming album (hopefully coming soon!), it's a silly little DIY thing I filmed in a Walmart parking lot in like a half hour but it was fun to do and I definitely plan to create tons more music videos that are much more elaborate. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Much love, see you all real soon <3
